At our last Richardson Ford Inc. team meeting, we decided to spotlight the best tough features of the Ford Ranger. It was easier said than done, mostly because this popular mid-size pickup has nothing but outstanding tough features. Take the following features for example.
Class-Exclusive Engine
A rugged, off-road truck needs a beefy, capable engine to match. Naturally, the Ford Ranger has the only engine of its type in this class. It’s a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine. It boasts turbocharged technology that results in swift responsiveness, power and seamless gear-shifting. Plus, this engine produces 270 horsepower and 310 lb.-ft. of torque, a feat that contributes directly to the Ford Ranger’s class-leading payload capacity.
Payload and Towing
It takes major toughness to tow tons, and the Ford Ranger does not disappoint. In addition to the engine mentioned above, the Ford Ranger also boasts a steel frame that’s high-strength, rigid and lighter in weight than the frames of previous iterations. This lighter frame reduces curb weight, raising the Ford Ranger payload and towing to 1,860 pounds and 7,500 pounds, respectively.
